Modern research has shown that Usnea has antimicrobial, antiviral, and immunomodulating properties, and therefore has potential to be used in the treatment of various infections and conditions. Recent studies have also revealed potential uses for Usnea in cancer treatment, as well as to regulate inflammation in the body. Just like it's distant relative the lungwort lichen, Usnea is a must have for the herbal medicine cabinet!
