Nick Hannes  studeerde fotografie aan de KASK in Gent. Met een mix van subtiele humor, ironie en visuele metaforen richt hij zich op grote maatschappelijke thema’s als migratie, urbanisatie en globalisering. Hij had solo tentoonstellingen in onder meer het FoMu, De Garage en talrijke internationale fotofestivals. Hij ontving de Zeiss Photography Award in 2017, de Magnum Photography Award in 2018 en een World Press Photo Award in 2023. Nick doceert sinds 2008 documentaire fotografie aan de KASK.
