Je kruipt in Divinity II: Ego Draconis opnieuw in de rol van Dragon Slayer om Rivellon van de ondergang te redden. Naarmate de game vordert krijg je steeds meer ervaringspunten en word je steeds beter om uiteindelijk in een grote Dragon Lord te evolueren. Je zult de draken dus kunnen gaan besturen, of eigenlijk ben je zelf een draak!

Divinity II: Ego Draconis heeft enorm veel verschillende queesten, wapens en voorwerpen om jezelf mee te vermaken. Daarnaast zijn er natuurlijk weer een hoop vijanden, menselijk en niet menselijk, te bevechten. Je kunt tijdens het vechten op elk moment in een Dragon Lord veranderen om alles dat voor je staat overhoop te blazen.
