Beschrijving

De Avro 504K is een tweezits dubbeldekker die in 1913 in het Verenigd Koninkrijk is ontworpen door vliegtuigfabrikant A.V. Roe and Company (Avro). Het vliegtuig wordt aangedreven door een propeller en heeft een topsnelheid van ongeveer 150 km/u.

Tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog is het toestel ingezet voor verkenningsmissies en anti-Zeppelin patrouilles. Al snel fungeerde de Avro 504K vooral als trainingstoestel voor de luchtstrijdkrachten. Dit Avro-type is in grote aantallen geëxporteerd naar diverse landen, waaronder Nederland en België.

In het historische Cobi-model komt de trainingsrol van de Avro 504K duidelijk naar voren door de twee zitplaatsen, voor de vlieginstructeur en cursist, en de afwezigheid van bewapening.

Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant. Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.

Any book with the name Stokely Carmichael is a rare find. You can easily find the same book with Kwame Ture as the author since he changed his name and so later editions reflects the name change. Kwame Ture (fka Stokely Carmichael) changed his name for a reason. However, those of us from the sixties can never forget him nor the name Stokely Carmichael.
