Met deze aaltjes bestrijd u effectief emelten (larven van de langpootmug). Deze beestjes veroorzaken veel schade door wortelvraat aan gazons e.d. Het parasitaire aaltje is dé biologische manier om deze plaag te bestrijden.

De schade van emelten in het gazon kun je herkennen aan kale plekken in het gazon met los liggende pollen. Emelten vreten namelijk de wortel van het gras door en zorgt ervoor dat de graszoden los komen te liggen. Herkenbaar is ook dat vogels massaal in het gras gaan zitten pikken en op zoek gaan naar de emelten. Til de grasmat een stukje op, graaf ondiep een gaatje en je ziet de emelten zo liggen in het zand.
