Standplaats en aanplanting tegen schuttingen, gevels muurtjes en pergola's

Deze Hedera soorten zijn bodemvraag, dat betekent dat ze op vrijwel iedere tuingrond groeien. Gebruik bij het aanplanten aanplantgrond om de inworteling en startgroei te bevorderen. Deze Hedera soort groeit op een plek in de schaduw, halfschaduw en een plek in de volle zon. Het zijn makkelijke en sterke klimplanten die bestand zijn tegen korte periodes van droogte. Op verloop van tijd zal deze Hedera uit zichzelf groeien langs uw pergola, schutting, gevel of muur. Indien noodzakelijk kunt u ze de eerste tijd opbinden. Plant de Hedera niet te dicht tegen een kozijn of bij gaten in de muur. Omdat ze zo gemakkelijk groeien kunnen ze hier doorheen groeien en deze beschadigen.

Plant op elke strekkende meter 3-5 hedera planten aan. Hoe groter de plant bij levering, hoe minder u hoeft aan te planten en hoe sneller uw gevel, schutting of pergola groen zal zijn.

De bonte Hedera groeit ongeveer 50 tot 70 cm per jaar. De klimop (hedera familie) wordt ook wel eiloof of (boom)veil genoemd.
