In deze online workshop leer je eerst iets over de oorsprong van zines. We geven je ideeën voor het onderwerp en hoe je dat idee vorm zou kunnen geven. Vervolgens laten we drie makkelijke manieren zien hoe je een zine kunt maken: gewoon thuis, met één vel papier. En tot slot leer je hoe je je zine kunt vermenigvuldigen en verspreiden, mocht je dat willen.

Goed kunnen tekenen hoeft niet, knippen en plakken kan ook. Maar bovenal gaat het om het plezier van het maken. Voor zines geldt namelijk: alles kan en alles mag. Met deze workshop helpen we je om gewoon te beginnen.

Wat krijg je?

  • Video’s en foto’s met ideeën over hoe je jouw zine kunt vullen.
  • Stappenplannen voor het vouwen.
  • Uitleg over hoe je je zine kunt verspreiden.
  • Informatie over het ontstaan van zines.
  • Een digitaal werkboek met zine-sjablonen, om te printen en zelf in te vullen.

Wat heb je nodig?

  • Papier, dat mag in alle kleuren en maten zijn (A4 is handig om mee te beginnen).
  • Iets om mee te schrijven of tekenen.
  • (Masking)tape, naald en draad en/of een nietmachine.
  • En verder kan en mag alles: tijdschriften om plaatjes of letters uit te knippen, stickers, foto’s, uitgescheurde quotes, gedroogde bloemen, enzovoorts.

Les 1: Wat is een zine?
Wat zijn zines precies, waar komen ze vandaan, en waarom zijn ze weer zo populair? Een korte geschiedenis.

Les 2: Welke vorm kies je?
Aan de hand van video’s leer je verschillende vouwtechnieken, voor zines in verschillende vormen.

Les 3: Waar gaat je zine over?
Ideeën om te beginnen, zoals een zine over één thema of met een recept of verhaaltje.

Les 4: Hoe vul je je zine?
Zo ga je aan de slag met tekst, tekeningen of collages. Inclusief tekenlesjes.

Les 5: Hoe verspreid je je zine?
Je kunt één exemplaar maken, of meerdere. Hoe pak je dat aan?

My favorite... And I'm picky.

I've become a little obsessed with sunscreen over the last past 5 years. I have olive skin and developed melasma after my first pregnancy. I learned the hard way that chemical sunscreens don't help if you have melasma - and they actually make the dark spots even worse. Also the active ingredients in chemical sunscreens (like Oxybenzone and Octinoxate) are absorbed by your skin, and may cause allergies, hormonal imbalance and be toxic overtime. After learning that, I started wearing only mineral sunscreen (active ingredient is zinc and/or titanium dioxide). These are not absorbed and works by creating a physical barrier that reflects the sun (some studies suggest that some nanoparticles of zinc may be absorbed by your skin, so to be really, really safe you should look for non-nano particles). After trying a few brands, I realized the sunscreens with only zinc in their formulas worked better than the blends with titanium dioxide, but this is just my personal preference I guess. And the higher the percentage of zinc, the better. Most pure mineral sunscreens out there are 10-ish % zinc, SPF 30, 40 min water resistant - which is ok. Thinksport goes beyond that: It's 20% non-nano zinc, SPF 50+, 80 min water resistant. It really can't get any better than that! The lotion is not extremely thick when compared to other sunscreens I've tried and I find it pretty easy to apply. As every zinc sunscreen, it does leave a little fine white cast, but honestly Thinksport is not bad at all! It smells nice, lightly citrusy - and the smell vanishes soon. And, it's not overpriced. Best I've tried so far.
