Omdat het Viognier sap zo goed van kwaliteit is wordt er geen gebruik gemaakt van houten vaten. Zoals de wijnmaker zelf zegt, puur de natuur proef je in deze kwaliteit.

De visie van McManis

Het wijnhuis McManis is in 1990 opgericht door Ron en Jamie McManis, de 4e generatie wijnbouwers. De McManis familie verbouwt al sinds 1938 druiven in deze regio. De wijngaarden zijn gelegen in de buurt van de koele invloeden van de San Joaquin en Stanislaus Rivers. Tegenwoordig beschikt de familie over 1200 hectare grond verdeeld over tien wijngaarden die allemaal het certificaat “Green Winery” beschikken. Met veel aandacht voor de natuur worden arbeidsintensieve methodes toegepast zoals het verwijderen van blad en er wordt continu geïnvesteerd in nieuwe technieken. Dit alles met maar één visie: het produceren van de mooiste wijnen en druiven in de Noordelijke San Jaoquin Vallei met duurzame wijnbouw.

De smaak van McManis Viognier

Het sap wordt koud gefermenteerd in roestvrij staal om de unieke fruitkenmerken van Viognier te behouden. Gedurende het gehele proces van wijnmaken staat kwaliteit voorop. De druiven worden zorgvuldig geselecteerd en met zorg wordt het gehele proces doorlopen. Dat resulteert in deze prachtige fles wijn. In de geur heeft deze witte wijn indrukken van abrikoos, perzik en peren worden begeleid door een onderliggende toon van mineralen. De smaak is puur, veel lengte en diepgang en verfijnde smaken van de Viognier druif zoals perzik, peer en appel. De afdronk is lang en zeer zuiver.

Old school denim — not stretchy

Fabric used is old school denim — not the thin, stretchy stuff that pretty much everything called “denim” is today. It is 99% cotton (20% of which is recycled cotton) and 1% elastane, but I can’t feel any stretch in the fabric. It is a substantial, non-stretchy denim that gives the jacket really good structure. It has a higher end fit and look than the price would suggest. I wanted a more fitted denim jacket so ordered an XS even though according to the size chart I need a small. (I have a 34.5” bust, 28” waist at 118 pounds 5’4”.) It still buttons over a t shirt or lightweight sweater with freedom for movement/without being tight, but if I wanted a roomy fit or the ability to wear a heavier sweater or sweatshirt underneath and still be able to comfortably button it I would have needed a small. The shoulders are cut broad — I have very broad shoulders and the XS surprisingly fits my shoulders well. This jacket may not be the greatest fit for you if you have very narrow shoulders, unless you are going for an oversized look.
