Blad en bloei van de Toverhazelaar Hamamelis x intermedia 'Diane'

De bloemen zijn karmijnrood van kleur. De winterse bloeitijd loopt van ca. februari tot en met maart. De bloei is extra opvallend omdat dit gebeurt op de kale takken. De eironde bladeren zijn groen.

Met een grote sierwaarde, vooral bv. als accentplant in het openbaar groen en in de tuin vanwege de mooie vorm, de bloeiwijze of de bladkleur. Deze heester wenst een matig voedselrijke, vochthoudende tot vochtige, zandige bodem. Heeft een voorkeur voor zure tot neutrale grond (pH = 4.5 - 7). Deze soort verlangt een plekje in de zon of lichte schaduw. Bij voorkeur uit de felle middagzon. Kan bij nachtvorst in april-mei schade oplopen.
