In Gloomier: A Night at Hemlock Hall, players delve into a world of sorrow and suspense at the creepy estate of Lord Wellington-Smythe. The aim is to create the most tragic stories for your characters, leading them to endure suffering before meeting a premature end. The player who accumulates the most misfortune (i.e., the most negative points) wins. Throughout the game, you’ll make choices such as whether to Cuddle with Cats, Thwart a Thief, or Fall Victim to the Plague. By layering transparent cards, each new calamity intensifies your character's misfortunes. It’s a darkly comedic, competitive game for 2-5 players, with a typical playtime of about an hour.
