Built with over 30 years of heritage in racing, TBM Brakes introduces its first purpose built street performance brake kit, the XS3 series featuring a 12.19" vented rotor. Designed to be the bridge between our lightweight single thickness steel racing brakes and the large diameter rotor street performance brakes commonly seen in late model vehicles while providing incredible stopping power.

This brake kit was specifically designed to give the ability to run smaller diameter / factory size wheels without sacrificing braking potential. We even found this kit able to work with many steel factory 15" wheels as well as drag racing wheels.

Features:

  • Billet housings machined from solid 6061 Aluminum Alloy
  • Crossflow caliper design eliminates external tubes, and promotes equal pressure to piston distribution
  • (4) 1.75" OD pistons per caliper deliver exceptional stopping power and pedal feedback
  • Two Part Durable Powdercoated Calipers (choose color in options)
  • Black Anodized Brackets, Hats
  • Dark Zinc Plated rotors offer corrosion resistance before and after installation (please note rotor color can vary due to process)
  • Billet CNC Machined 304 Stainless Steel Pistons
  • Unique Cross flow fluid design for smoother operation
  • 12 point hardware
  • Race derived caliper design provides excellent stopping and better pedal feel
  • Made in the USA in our Bradenton, FL location!

Weight: 16.25lb per side / 32.5lb Total

Included:

  • (1) 12.19" vented rotors 3-121981087-1
  • (1) 12.19" vented rotors 3-121981087-2
  • (2) Billet Aluminum brake hat 205-0007
  • (2) XS3 4 Piston Caliper (Choose color below)
  • (1) Caliper Bracket 17-0076-1

Innovative caliper with class leading stopping power!

The XS3 Extreme Street caliper is an innovative new design built off principles and engineering from our line of racing calipers. This all billet caliper provides ultimate in strength for a better feel and performance. With a stronger bridge strength and more rigid caliper than most aftermarket aluminum calipers we are able to provide larger clamping force to achieve the brake torque to stop your vehicle. Choose your choice of color in powdercoat.

12.19" Slotted & Vented Rotor Balances Weight and Durability

Our cast vented and slotted 12.19" rotor was designed to balance weight, stopping power, cooling ability, and looks while keeping the ability to package with most factory and aftermarket wheels 15" and larger. These rotors are black plated to protect against rusting / corrosion and look good before first use and beyond.

Proven Brake Pad Technology:

Utilizing the Hawk Performance HPS Ferro Carbon compound, this brake pad strikes the perfect balance of stopping potential without bringing noisy brake pads and large amounts of brake dust into play.

Billet TBM Brake Hats

Our billet aluminum brake hats remove the weight of a steel center all in one rotor while allowing for minor adjustment of axle offset thanks to our unique stepped mounting design.

Note: We do not recommend the use of silicone based brake fluid with these calipers. Only use approved DOT3, DOT4, or DOT 5.1 brake fluid. We recommend using TBM Extreme 6 Fluid for best results.

These brakes perform and operate best at 6-800 psi brake pressure under normal braking pressure. The proper master cylinder and pedal ratio is essential to proper performance. Don't know how to calculate this? Give our team a call, we are happy to help! (800) 878-9274

Seriously needs a proofreader
Format: Paperback
The content in this series is good, but the presentation is in need of a proofreader. There are so many typos and wrong words (ignoring that it's UK English). It's like the author typed what he heard in his head, but the words are something different. For example, a section introduces the "Package Manager," which is then inconsistently called the "Packet Manager." Or "research term" instead of "search term." Or "PlayGround" in the text when it's clearly "playground" in the figure. Even the provided resources are misspelled: "Sdandard Assets" in the code and the screenshots in the book. How does this go unnoticed? Programming isn't tolerant of these things.

Great Beginner's book.
Format: Kindle
I really like Pat's approach to learn Unity. I'm working my way through his books, just finish this one (second in the series). I've tried to learn Unity in the past and fail and now I know why. Pat's walks you from the beginning, you learn how to build games from a blank canvas and putting all pieces together. It's a step by step approach so you are never wondering how to get to a certain stage. If you are new to Unity and Programming strongly suggest you starting with book 1 "foundation" and then move to this one.

A Great Start for Beginners That Encourages by Eliminating Ambiguity
Format: Kindle
Everyone has their own learning curve to overcome at their own time, however, the concise instructions in this book leaves very little for the individual to be stumped on and while moving on to more complex lessons the book is formatted in such a way that referencing older topics can be done quickly. As a beginner myself, having only completed a few tutorials before this series, would definitely recommend both the Foundations and Beginner works to those looking to take on the challenge of teaching themselves the intricacies of Unity.

A Decent Introduction to Unity, With Caveats
Format: Paperback
Overall, the author gets the main points across, and readers can learn how to develop games in Unity. Unfortunately, the code examples are rather sloppy. It’s clear the author understands game development in Unity, but not necessarily software development best practices. I can look past these issues, but I worry newer developers may pick up some bad habits. Speaking of new developers, this book assumes a very introductory level of programming experience. Personally, I believe it’s best to learn the fundamentals of software development before diving into game development. This approach isn’t unique to this book, however, and it’s honestly difficult to find a game development book that doesn’t assume you’re starting from almost nothing. To the author’s credit, the book does present a reasonable set of real-world problems that a typical developer will encounter, along with workable solutions. Just be prepared for a significant amount of hand-holding.
