Queen Elizabeth II Sovereigns 1957-1968

The very first sovereigns struck of Queen Elizabeth’s reign were dated 1953 and only a very few were struck in proof form, no currency type coins exist and the proof itself is only held in national collections so it is not one which is expected to come to the market place. I mention this very special coin as its portrait design by Mary Gillick remained exactly the same for the first year of the currency type issue in 1957 but due to changes in the Commonwealth the words BRITT.OMN had been removed from the obverse. So by the time the public got their first look at the sovereign we were already on the 2nd bust.

Mary Gillick’s second portrait design also known as the pre-decimal head sovereign was produced from 1957-1959 and 1962-1968, 1960-61 do not exist. The 1957 has a finer edge milling often referred to as graining and to simplify means that it has more milling then 1958 onwards.

Queen Elizabeth II Sovereigns (New Portrait) 2016 - Date

Obverse: The fifth definitive portrait of Her Majesty The Queen was unveiled 2nd March 2015. The design is by Jody Clark, who aged 33, is the youngest artist to have achieved this honour. The design was selected via a competition, commissioned by the Royal Mint Advisory Committee, which invited Royal Mint engravers and designers, along with specially invited artists from the public, to submit their designs.

Reverse: St.George mounted with sword attacking the dragon, streamer flowing from St George's helmet. The date appears below the exergue line at the bottom with the letters B.P. to the right. The 2017 sovereign features a shield mint mark denoting the 200th anniversary of the modern Sovereign.

A total game changer (where were these when I was a teen?!)
Size: 72 Count (Pack of 1)
I honestly wish these had been around when I was younger! The Mighty Patch Original is hands-down the most effective way I’ve found to deal with stubborn whiteheads. Instead of picking at my skin and making things worse, I just pop one of these on at night and let it do the work while I sleep. By the morning, you can actually see the gunk it pulled out right on the patch (gross, but strangely satisfying). It significantly reduces the size and redness of the zit in just one use, and because it covers the spot, it stops me from touching it and causing more irritation. The 72-count pack is a great value and lasts quite a while. They stay put all night, even if you toss and turn, and they’re clear enough that you almost forget you’re wearing them. If you’re looking for a stress-free way to clear up your skin overnight, these are a must-have!

Works on all skin types
Size: 36 Count (Pack of 1)
What an amazing product! I'm in my 40s and still experience occasional acne. I purchased Mighty Patch, and after wearing it overnight, my blemish was noticeably cleared up by morning. I have fairly dry skin and already use quality skincare products both morning and night, so I was impressed by how well it worked. My 17-year-old son also tried one when he started getting a few breakouts, and it cleared up his blemish as well. His skin is much oilier than mine, which shows that this product can be effective for both dry and oily skin types. I’m very happy with the results and will definitely be purchasing it again!

Works as expected! Good value
Size: 36 Count (Pack of 1)
I bought these because I ran out of Curology patches that I got with the free trial. These work similarly; you’ll need one or two patches to fully get rid of the pimple— it depends on how large & inflamed it is. Even if you need two the first patch will still a do a good job of draining most the gross fluid out. I like that these are more translucent/transparent than some other brands I’ve seen. They’re not obnoxious looking if you’re wearing one or two in the daytime. The adhesion has been great so far. I’ve tried it on bare and moisturized skin and either way it holds up. Once it’s been stuck in place for a few minutes you can apply a moisturizer on your face OVER the patches without them slipping off. Just use a gentle touch. There’s probably cheaper pimple patches from smaller brands but $4.49 (before tax) is definitely a reasonable cost for 30 patches So I gave it 4 stars for value for money. My only qualm is that the small size pimple patches could stand to be at least slightly bigger. Only new closed comedones that are just forming are that small (typically). Otherwise I’m satisfied with this purchase.

Repurchasing for sure
Color: Zero Pore Pads, Size: 70 Count (Pack of 1)
These toner pads have genuinely made my skin look smoother, brighter, and more refreshed. They’re super easy to use and feel really gentle while still giving noticeable results. My skin feels cleaner and softer after using them, and I’ve especially noticed improvement in texture and overall glow. I also love that the pads are really saturated without dripping everywhere, and they don’t irritate my skin. They’ve become such an easy part of my routine, especially on days when I want my skin to look extra fresh and glowy. Definitely one of the better skincare purchases I’ve made lately.

medicube Dual-Textured Facial Pads for Exfoliation and Pore Care
Color: Zero Pore Pads, Size: 70 Count (Pack of 1)
If you’ve spent any time on skincare social media, you’ve likely seen these white tubs with bright blue lids. The Medicube Zero Pore Pad 2.0 is a cult-favorite K-Beauty staple designed for those who struggle with "strawberry nose," excess sebum, and texture. It isn't just a toner; it’s a mechanical and chemical exfoliant hybrid. The Dual-Action Design The "2.0" version features a pre-soaked, double-sided pad that serves two distinct purposes: 1. Embossed Side: Provides gentle physical exfoliation to lift away dead skin cells and debris. 2. Silky Side: Polishes the skin and hydrates, prepping the face for the rest of your routine. The Pros: Why It’s a Bestseller • Noticeable Texture Improvement: Within a week of consistent use, most users notice a significant reduction in "bumps" and a smoother surface for makeup application. • Effective Sebum Control: It contains a "Pore Tightening Complex" (including lemongrass and mint peel) that helps keep midday oiliness at bay without stripping the skin bone-dry. • Clean and Convenient: The tub comes with a secondary lid and tweezers, keeping the pads saturated and hygienic. • The "Glow" Factor: Because it uses AHAs and BHAs (Salicylic Acid and Betaine Salicylate), it clears out the "gunk" inside pores, making them appear smaller and the skin look brighter. The Cons: What to Watch For • Fragrance: These pads have a distinct, slightly medicinal/citrus scent. While refreshing to some, it may be irritating if you have a high sensitivity to added fragrance. • Tingling Sensation: If your skin barrier is compromised or you are very sensitive, you might feel a slight sting. It’s a potent exfoliant, not a soothing toner. • Price Point: Compared to basic drugstore toners, Medicube sits at a premium. You are paying for the convenience of the pre-soaked formulation and the specific patented ingredients.
