Advent Digital Pattern 2025 - Catch Of Christmas Day Jumper

Treat yourself this festive season, with our 2025 knitting advent pattern. This year's advent is a Fisherman core inspired jumper pattern, featuring a different stitch texture each day. We have included mix and match options too, meaning there are up to 144 potential jumper combinations you could knit with this one pattern. 

Work through the Advent instruction booklet choosing from 29 pattern sections throughout the 24 days of advent, each one includes a different section of the knitting pattern. If you want to replicate either of the sample jumpers shown we have included a cheat sheet at the back of the digital 'How To' booklet. 

The yarn is not supplied with the digital pattern, if you choose to purchase your yarn from us the recommended yarn is 'The Little Chunky One' by That Crafty Stitch. If using your own yarn the pattern calls for a heavy aran weight yarn, between 140-150 metres per 100g. Make sure to check gauge before starting - gauge details in size info below.

Sam's design notes; "I was inspired by growing up in Brixham which is one of Englands biggest fishing ports with a 1000 year history. Seeing the local harbours and the rich fishing culture that is still thriving inspired me, trawlers coming and going, fishing nets and crab pots piled high along the harbour walls and a busy fishing market on weekends bringing the community together. The fisherman core aesthetic is back with a bang this Winter and I wanted to design a wearable that brought all of that together."

• 6mm Circular Knitting Needles (80cm)

• Pattern covers sizes XS - 3XL - Check size guide image for measurements
• Models wear Medium in Stone  |  Large In Khaki
• Pattern includes 18cm Positive Ease
• Pattern Gauge: 14 Stitches x 20 Rows per 10cm (in stockinette)
• Pattern is also unisex in design 

TECHNIQUES USED:

• Casting On + Off

TIME:

• The pattern is designed to be knit each day over 24 days.
• The longest knit sessions are the first 4 days - around 3 hours each day.
• After the first 3 days knit sessions are around 1-2 hours.
• We recommend blocking before wear as some stitch textures, especially the cabling can pull the fabric of the jumper inwards. However we would encourage you to allow minimum 72 hours (possible longer) for drying dependant on the fibre used. This is worth noting in case you want to wear the Jumper on Christmas Day, you may want to start a few days early.
