Elixir Distillers is an independent bottler that released The Single Malts of Scotland range in 2002. This single malt was distilled at Caol Ila distillery in 2010 and aged for more than 12 years in a single hogshead, yielding a total of 269 bottles.
Nose - Honey roasted, smoked cashew nuts are mixed with chunks of caramelised white chocolate. Brown sugar is flavoured with vanilla and cinnamon. Peat chimney smoke sits in the background.
Palate - Roasted orange slices are sprinkled with dark, caramelised muscovado sugar before serving alongside a crisp topped crème brûlée. Smoke wafts in at the end.
Finish - Cinnamon spice and hard, caramelised sugar shards linger on.
