Measuring 5 ft 2 in x 3 ft 8 in (157.4 cms x 111.7 cms,) this is a Very Finely Woven, Handmade Vintage Wool Flat-Weave Senneh (Sine) Kilim Rug, made in Far South Eastern Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 60 years ago. This rug features repeated traditional design motifs in red, green and orange on an off-white central field encased in a wide red border with stylised floral motifs. Senneh Rugs are highly appreciated for their finely woven, slit-weave structure and intricate patterns and designs in which floral motifs are often encased in large geometric medallions. Senneh rugs are, usually, reversible but, due to the fine wool used and the tight weaving technique, lighter that most other kilim rugs, so may benefit from the use of a rug pad or non-slip underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces or in high traffic areas.
