ARTIST BIO

Sara Pope is well known for her seductive paintings of voluptuous lips. Taking inspiration from Haute Couture fashion, she captures the glamour and sexual power conveyed by a pair of lips. All paintings from this series start with a photographic shoot, a model, and some makeup. 

Exploring ideas of communication, Sara asks the model to think of emotions, love, happiness, or flirtation. She then photographs the results and how these thoughts are expressed by the models lips. Her painting process for the Lip Portraits involves several thin layers of oil being overlaid to create a glass like quality.

Sara Pope’s work is rapidly gaining attention and has been exhibited at several galleries in the United Kingdom, including Lawrence Alkin Gallery, London, Jealous Gallery, London, Art Republic, Brighton, George Thornton Art, Nottingham, and Workhouse Gallery, Harrogate.

This duvet looks exactly as shown on the Amazon website. I bought the white/white color and it looks and feels very fresh and fluffy, quite lovely. It appears to be well made with a pretty stitched design. It feels soft and comforting. Though it is not overly thick, my intention is not to use it with a duvet cover but to tuck it between a sheet and thermal blanket with a wool blanket on top. It should function well as insulation on a cold night but also be comfortable on cooling autumn nights without the added wool blanket. I believe it will be very easy to use to use this way, rather than with the hassle of a duvet cover. Also, it will transition well from fall into winter. I know that it is machine washable. But as I own a HE washer, I do plan to launder it at the laundromat in a larger machine. It so fully covers my king sized bed that I fear it might overwhelm the HE washer. But I do like the generous size. I am so glad to have found this duvet at a great price. It was absolutely a value.
