“Growing through the cracks, perseverance. The image of blooming through has been stuck in my head for a long time. Going back to painting in abandoned buildings as a teenager and watching nature take its space back. Returning to a spot and seeing all new plant life growing. Seeing the old discarded cans becoming wrapped in something beautiful just like the piece it created at one point.
As I got older it became a metaphor to me for graffiti. Paint, get buffed, paint, get buffed, repeat.”
