Rochford Estate Chardonnay 2023 x 12The 2022 Estate Chardonnay opens with notes of candle wax, cashew, stone fruits, and oak spice. There is a generosity of aroma, continuing to unfurl given air. On the palate there is white peach, crisp nectarine and saline acids forming nice length to the wine. The phenolics are fine but add nicely to the texture of this wine. ‘The fruit is sourced from vineyards in Gruyere and Woori Yallock. Whole-bunch pressed 
to barriques, puncheons and a foundre, 15% new wood and mlf. A light, bright, green 
gold. White peach and nectarines together with a little orange blosson and grapefruit 
pith. Even and long on the palate, and I like the each-way bet here between enjoying 
this now but knowing it will still be looking good three to four years from now.’
