In recent years, LED tape has increased in popularity. It is seen as a simple way of creating eye-catching lighting features in the home, in the office, or in public areas. With 60 LEDs per metre, this LED tape guarantees plenty of light for any location, with each section providing 20 lumens per chip. And the impressively high Colour Rendering Index (CRI) of 94 means that this lighting choice will enhance the colours of your surroundings, rather than dull them.

The main cause of LED failure is excess heat but the SMD2835 LED tape operates at a lower temperature and the flexible self-adhesive backing helps our product stay cool, therefore extending its lifespan and guaranteeing a long-lasting performance.

When installing LED tape it is always important to have the correct 12VDC constant voltage PSU. This will maintain the correct illumination levels and ensure optimal operation throughout the life of the strip. Our LED strip lights require 14.4 watts per metre from a 12 volt supply, with the 5m SMD2835 strip needing 72 watts in total. Therefore a suitably rated and protected power supply capable of continuously providing a minimum of 72 watts (6 amps) at 12 volts should be installed.
