Third from the right Mahalhal bin 'Ati, a tribesman of the Al Khamis lineage of Awamir Bedouin, sits facing forward holding a porcelain cup and a coffee urn. Around them saddlery, rope, pots, blankets and other equipment lie in the sand. On the far left another man sits outside the circle in front of a large tree, while in the distance more trees grow on a flat plain.
