We are collectors and one for our display is a complete range of 1:18 scale Elite Batmobile models. However, we have noticed a failure in the more reputable brands to manufacture a consistent scale of these models. It seems there is more consistency in the box sizes, and the models end up being too small for an 1:18 scale. This will not do!

We have carried out research into the movie versions of these models and determined the size a 1:18 scale model should be. We have compared models released by Hot Wheels, Jada and Asian markets and found that the models released by QY Toys in Asia, are not only more accurate in scale, but they also benefit from better paint work and additional features.

The Tumble model released by Hot Wheels, even the Elite models, has a terrible canopy design which cannot be properly opened, preventing you from inspecting the interior details. The only UK release with an opening canopy is from Jada in 1:24 scale.

The QY toy version offers a full opening canopy, complete with the 'glass' missing from the Hot Wheels model, which keeps the dust out. In addition to being 5.3% larger and closer to the movie accurate scale, the body details are more defined and the paintwork sharper.

There are changes between the models, but having sat these side by side with out UK collection, comparing the build quality and features, as well as the significant price differences, we strongly believe the QY models are superior and better value. In addition, they are ideal for our Arkham Batman figures which can sit comfortably in the driver seats.

At present, we can offer the 1989 Batmobile and the 2012 Tumbler. Both offer opening canopies, whereas the 1989 features roating guns and the Tumbler has a smoke effect. Currently, the 1989 is gift-boxed and the Tumbler is foam cased (we are trying to source better packaging)
