Histoire du moulin dÕEckbolsheim.

La premi�re mention connue du moulin dÕEckbolsheim figure dans une charte de FrŽdŽric Barberousse en 1163, confirmant les droits et privil�ges de lÕEglise St Thomas sur le moulin, qui sont fondŽs sur une donation faite par Dagobert II ˆ lՎv�que Florent et par ce dernier ˆ ses compatriotes les Fr�res Ecossais rŽunis dans la maison de St Thomas.

Le domaine du moulin dÕEckbolsheim sՎtendait sur plus de 150 ares de b‰timents, prŽs et verger mais de nombreux corps de b‰timent avaient disparu par dŽmolition ou lors dÕun incendie en 1961.
En 1979 plusieurs familles ont entrepris sa restauration et sa transformation en b‰timents dÕhabitation, puis son extension en plusieurs maisons respectant lÕarchitecture traditionnelle des maisons alsaciennes.

Cette mŽtamorphose a permis la sauvegarde dÕun riche patrimoine ancien qui fait partie de lÕhistoire sociale, Žconomique et religieuse de la commune dÕEckbolsheim.
