About the Flag
"Qatar flag consists of two colors, white and chestnut. There is a white color covering one third of the flag on the side of the flag and the other sides are in chestnut color. Nine triangles at the junction of white and chestnut color form a recessed area in this section. The Qatar flag is the only national flag that has more than twice the width of its height.
It is stated that the chestnut color on the flag is actually the first starting point in red, but due to the geographic place of the country, the color of the country has turned to this color with the effect of intense sunlight. The white part of the flag represents the peace. The serrated section states that it was the ninth of the emirates that gained independence in the Arab Gulf in 1916 as a result of the Qatar-British agreement." (source: mappr)
