These towels become softer with every wash. They also take up much less space in the laundry which is a great plus because you consume less water and detergent. Please wash before first use.  Machine wash on the delicate cycle with cold water. Air dry. Limit the use of softeners as this reduces the absorbency of the towel. As with all cotton items, a small amount of shrinkage may occur after the first wash and is totally normal. To prevent shrinkage do not use hot water and do not put it in the dryer but line dry when the wash is over.
