This GMT dual time zone watch, featuring a matching black PVD steel bracelet, is one of our most popular models. It is powered by a high-performance quartz Ronda 515.24 movement, housed in a robust 300m / 1000ft water-resistant steel casing. This makes it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and water sports. However, since the bezel is designed for tracking time across two time zones, its suitability for diving applications is limited. That said, from a water-resistance perspective, the watch performs exceptionally well underwater.
The Concept of a GMT Watch
The GMT function is ingeniously simple yet highly effective. Unlike traditional watches, where the hour hand completes a 12-hour cycle, a GMT watch includes a second hour hand that rotates once every 24 hours. This hand aligns with a 24-hour scale on the bezel, enabling the wearer to track an additional time zone effortlessly.
At first glance, GMT watches may resemble diver’s watches, but their primary function differs. The 24-hour hand moves once per day, eliminating any confusion between AM and PM.
Designed for Pilots
We originally designed these watches for long-haul airline pilots and military transport pilots, including those flying aircraft such as the Lockheed C-130 Hercules and Airbus A400M. The GMT feature allows them to monitor both their departure and destination time zones simultaneously.
