Even as the 250th anniversary of its outbreak approaches, the Seven Years' War (otherwise known as the French and Indian War) is still not wholly understood. Most accounts tell the story as a military struggle between British and French forces, with shifting alliances of Indians, culminating in the British conquest of Canada. Scholarly and popular works alike, including James Fennimore Cooper's Last of the Mohicans, focus on the action in the Hudson River Valley and the St. Lawrence Seaway. Matthew C. Ward tells the compelling story of the war from the point of view of the region where it actually began, and whose people felt the devastating effects of war most keenly-the backcountry communities of Virginia and Pennsylvania. Previous wars in North America had been fought largely on the New England and New York frontiers. But on May 28, 1754, when a young George Washington commanded the first shot fired in western Pennsylvania, fighting spread for the first time to Virginia and Pennsylvania. Ward's original research reveals that on the eve of the Seven Years' War the communities of these colonies were isolated, economically weak, and culturally diverse. He shows in riveting detail how, despite the British empire's triumph, the war brought social chaos, sickness, hunger, punishment, and violence, to the backcountry, much of it at the hands of Indian warriors. Ward's fresh analysis reveals that Indian raids were not random skirmishes, but part of an organized strategy that included psychological warfare designed to make settlers flee Indian territories. It was the awesome effectiveness of this "guerilla" warfare, Ward argues, that led to the most enduring legacies of the war: Indian-hating and an armed population of colonial settlers, distrustful of the British empire that couldn't protect them. Understanding the horrors of the Seven Years' War as experienced in the backwoods thus provides unique insights into the origins of the American republic.Binding Type: Paperback

Portable size to freshen up
Scent: 555 Strawberry + Aire, Size: 1 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
The fragrance is fruity and light. This is a great size to pop in a purse or gym bag. I also found it easily in my bag because of the bright red color, and my bag is ALWAYS a mess lol. The lid stays on with no issues. Since this is a mist , the scent is there and gone pretty quickly. It doesn’t last long. The price is decent for this brand, but it isn’t going to perform much differently than what you get at the “blue gingham” place. I’ve ordered from Lake & Skye before and I generally like their products.

Fruity body mist
Scent: 555 Strawberry + Aire, Size: 1 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Scent: 555 Strawberry + Aire, Size: 1 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This is a great little travel-size body spray to keep in a beach bag, purse, or suitcase. The spray bottle is compact but still feels sturdy, and it’s super convenient for on-the-go use. The scent is pleasant, sweet, and fruity, and not overpowering at all. To me it has a warm fruity vibe that kind of reminds me of summer days as a kid eating popsicles. Nice for everyday wear if you want something light and easy, plan to reapply every 3 hours or so for maximum scent.

Good quality and definitely worth it for energetic dogs.
Color: Orange
The automatic moving and rolling action really grabs my dog’s attention, and the rope adds extra fun for chasing and playing. It helps reduce boredom and keeps my dog mentally stimulated, especially when indoors. The motion activation works well, and it’s a fun and engaging toy overall.

my dogs love it
Color: Orange
This interactive toy has been a lifesaver for keeping my furry friend occupied. It moves around in unpredictable ways, which really keeps him engaged and guessing. The rope attachment is a nice touch, allowing for a bit of tug-of-war when he's feeling energetic. It's durable enough to withstand his enthusiastic play, which is a huge plus. I've noticed he's less anxious and destructive when I'm not home since he has this to play with. Definitely a great purchase for any dog owner looking to provide some mental stimulation.

How many dog toys have you bought that just laid on the floor unused?
Color: Orange
New husky has more energy than an entire pre-school - even being walked more than three miles a day wasn’t sufficient to drain her excess energy.
I threw the dice on this - and it’s AWESOME. Comes with an extra rope and an extra side piece. Rechargeable with a USB-C cable. When you turn it on, the blue LEDs flash, the entire device buzzes, bounces, and races back and forth across the floor. After a couple of days of uncertainty, my new husky LOVES this. She chases it around, grabs it by the attached rope and carries it from room to room.
After a short bit of activity, the toy goes into ‘sleep’ mode, until either the dog touches it again or a timer has elapsed, and then it fires up and starts buzzing and racing around the floor again.
From a full charge, the toy will keep your dog entertained all day. Bright orange color makes it much easier to find when it’s rolled behind the toilet (as it did this afternoon). Sturdy. Highly resistant to chew damage. If this one wears out or breaks, I’ll absolutely get another one.
