In 2018, John Also Bennett appeared on three collaborative full-length releases - the CV & Jab album Thoughts Of A Dot As It Travels A Surface for Shelter Press (SHELTER 092LP), a fourth Forma album Semblance for Kranky, and Outside The Disc, a new album for his Seabat project with Forest Christenson. He also appeared on Christina Vantzou's solo album No. 4. Whilst work continues on these long running collaborations (as well as other projects with artists such as noted minimalist composer/performer Jon Gibson), 2019 will start for John with his first full-length solo release - Erg Herbe. Jab says the record was gestated for nearly a decade while he worked out how to fully express his own sound and ideas. Erg Herbe began to emerge during 2017 and 2018, recorded alone during spare moments between collaborative projects. Jab uses a mixture of synthetic and organic instruments throughout the album, including modified Aphex Twin DX7 presets played using a just intonation tuning system, Eurorack oscillators "tuned according to intuitive structures using intervals of 30 hz," and a number of flutes including a Chinese "dizi" flute borrowed from his father, noted avant-garde poet and mail-artist John M. Bennett (a contemporary of New York underground poets Richard Kostelanetz and Steve Dalachinsky). Erg Herbe taps into the rich history of New York loft music. He also cites Takehisa Kosugi, Dominique Lawalrée, Jon Gibson, and Pauline Anna Strom as important influences. Beyond the cuts recorded in Brooklyn, there's also "Chanterai Por Mon Coraige" derived from the 13th century French troubadour song by Guiot de Dijon, on which two flute improvisations upon a theme were recorded blind from each other and then combined afterwards. Appropriately "Chanterai Por Mon Coraige" was recorded inside a decrepit mill in the French countryside at night. The title cut "Erg Herbe" features flute recorded inside Tilapia, a reverberant sculpture by Katsuhito Nishikawa at the Museum Insel Hombroich in Germany, which was then processed and overlaid with synthesizer in New York. "Distant Patterns" juxtaposes dry, pulsating oscillators with pillowy, occasionally dissonant pads, while a raga-like alto flute melody glides and dances over top. "Erg Herbe" in an invented turn of phrase - "erg" being the term for a sea of desert sand dunes, and "herbe" being French for grass - summoning the dreamlike image of a green, rolling dunescape. The most powerful water flosser I've found. 100% happy!

I prefer a water flosser which has the ability to shoot the water between my, very tightly spaced, teeth more powerfully than other water flossers I'd tried. Online searches seem to often say that the Waterpik Aquarius Water Flosser is the best and most powerful water flosser, so over time, I actually purchased that product TWICE, although I was not particularly impressed with its power when I first purchased it. At the time, I could not identify any similar product that appeared to perform any better.
Well, recently a friend recommended this Burst water flosser to me so I decided to give it a try. I am SO happy to report that it IS more powerful than the Waterpic water flosser, and using it's high setting, it has helped me flush significantly more debris from within my teeth and gums than I was able to get with the Waterpic product. On top of that, I love that it is cordless and that it takes up much less space on my pedestal sink. Admittedly, since its water reservoir is smaller, I do have to fill it twice in order to very thoroughly clean all of my teeth and gums each time, but that is a non-issue for me. I'm extremely satisfied with this product!

Childhood memories 😊

I came across this device from my orthodontist. I really don't enjoy flossing, for whatever reason I've always felt like I'm going to pull out a tooth when going slightly around my teeths gumline. But this little nifty device called burst helps with that. I've always enjoy the water flossing when I was a child visiting the orthodontist and now that I'm an adult, I still feel the same way. This whatever flossing device is amazing.
That being said, please read the instructions or at least watch and the video, that's a major plus for the visual learner's. The water floss is pretty powerful so be mindful. When I first used this device I dang near shot water in my eyeball. They definitely gave it the right name "Burst". I love the design of the packaging and the cute little travel bag it comes with. It's very easy to hold and the materials that this device is made out of does not feel cheap at all. It's very smooth to the touch and easy to hold. Though the the device is big,I must say it isn't heavy to hold when water flossing. I did however have a little bit of a hard time opening the area where the water goes. It's definitely a snug fit but once you pull at it enough eventually it'll open.
The overall design is outstanding. They come in various colors as well. I'm definitely glad my dentist brought this to my attention after me sharing my fear of regular flossing. I definitely prefer water flossing over dental flossing however I still incorporate dental flossing for two reasons. One being dental hygiene and second being to overcome my fear. So if you share that fear with me as well this burst device is definitely a safer alternative. But do keep in my to dental floss as well for hygiene and to conquer your fears. BURST OR BUST?

This is my second purchase of the Burst water flosser. The first stopped working after one year. Im just hoping this one lasts longer!!! In the interim I did buy a Waterpik based on the brand being around for so long. Side by side comparison, the Burst has more burst than the Waterpik. Im going to keep this one even though the price has doubled since my original purchase. Rated 4/5 because the first purchase only lasted one year and because of the increase in price.

Received Burst Water Flosser, that never worked. Found out too late.

Ordered this item on recommendation of my dental hygenist, then needed a tooth pulled and was starting the dental implant process so was told I couldn't use it for awhile. The process took another 1 & 1/2 years. After the final crown I was told to use a waterpik. I went to use this, was unable to charge it, may have been missing a part, tried a matching plug. It wouldn't charge or turn on. Too late to return, so I'm out a good chunk of money in exchange for junk, something that never worked. I wonder if someone had returned a defective one as it had a dark finger smudge where it turns on, which I couldn't wash off. The tips were in a new package. Very disappointed.

Perfect in every way!

This flosser is perfection. It starts with the packaging and presentation. The flosser itself is beautiful (I got the rose gold), a nice sleek design that looks great on the bathroom counter. It is well constructed; I have tried the cheaper versions of these flossers and they all have a hose that hangs in the water reservoir that eventually gets clogged and stops working. Save your money and go for this one. Another great feature is how LONG it holds the charge. I am one month in and it is still operating on the initial charge at full strength. This makes it ideal for travel, along with the adorable travel bag included in the package. I also appreciate not having the wires cluttering up my counter space, which was the case with the cheaper models that have to be charged after each use. So far the company has been great to deal with - it comes with a 1 year warranty, which is easy to sign up for on their website. After the one year, you can subscribe to automatic tip replacements (each 6 months) and that will extend the warranty.
