Bond It CONTACT ADHESIVE Premium Grade Beige 500ml

Product Information

A premium grade, solvent-based, neoprene adhesive with high grab and long open time to enable re-positioning. May be used to bond lightweight materials to vertical surfaces and ceilings. It is predominantly designed for interior use but can be used externally when the adhesive is protected from direct sunlight and water.

Bond It Contact Adhesive is toluene-free.

Application

Can be used for bonding cork, leather, rubber, metals, wood, chipboard, hardboard, laminated plastics (e.g. Formica), dense textiles, plaster, stone, concrete and smoothing compounds. It will bond rigid PVC and PVCu sheets but the materials should be checked for suitability prior to application as plasticiser migration can occur in some instances. NOTE: This product is not suitable for polystyrene, polythene, polypropylene, silicone rubbers, bitumen or PTFE. The solvent in the contact adhesive may attack certain painted or lacquered surfaces.

Preparation

Surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease or contaminants that may hinder adhesion.
Whenever possible, materials should be conditioned overnight in ambient conditions of 15-20C/ 60-65%RH. Very smooth surfaces should be abraded to provide an adequate key.

How To Use

  • Stir the glue thoroughly, prior to use, until a uniform consistency is obtained and the material has turned a
    creamy/brown.
  • Apply the adhesive to both surfaces being bonded with a notched scraper, brush or trowel to produce a thin film.
  • In cool, damp conditions take care that no condensation takes place on the glue lines as it will affect the
    adhesive bond.
  • If condensation (evident by a grey “bloom” on the glue) does occur delay bonding until the glue is moisture-free.
  • If the open time is exceeded, reapply the adhesive to both surfaces.
  • Leave the adhesive to become touch dry (approx 10-60 minutes depending on drying conditions).
  • Maximum open time for this product is up to 75 minutes, however, it is advisable to make bonds within 30
    minutes of adhesive application.
  • Carefully align pieces to be bonded.
  • For the panel, products work from the centre outwards to minimise air entrapment.
  • Press the two surfaces together and apply firm pressure with a hand rubber roller, block and mallet or mechanical press.
  • Handling and trimming are possible immediately after bonding.

Coverage
5m2 per litre when applied by notched spreader;
8m2 per litre when applied by brush.

– Not suitable for use with polyolefins or acetate fabrics.
– Do not use on soft (plasticised) PVC or polystyrene.
– Do not use on cellulose painted surfaces or on bitumen.
– Not suitable for items that may hold hot liquids.
– Do not use in areas subject to continuous immersion in water.
– Do not use at temperatures below 5C.

Drying Time

Allow up to 60 minutes for the initial set. Bond strength will continue to increase for up to 48 hours after application. Do not use infrared heaters or mechanical blowers as the product contains solvent and is highly flammable. Total drying time depends upon ambient temperature and the thickness coverage of the adhesive.

poli glow shine
its works great .when applying more coats the shinier it gets i used on several old boats because the florida sun bakes the jell coat right off and no wax made can withstand salty seas , so why not ,, when you apply use the mit and don't gob it on .. nice and easy and recoat in five minutes when you get to about five coats you will be amazed.looks like new .. just a tip also after about a year or so and you want to re apply,, go to your local hardware store and get a gallon of high strength or non diluted floor stripper and put in spray bottle and use to remove old poli-glow also great for cleaning stubborn stains [ i use full strength ] just spray on and brush with a scrub brush and rinse ..and let dry and re apply ,, its also works on car faded bumpers ,, also never use harsh cleaners it will cause streaking the best thing i have found for cleaning the boat after poli glow was put on is car wash from auto store with wax or not it seems not to hurt the shine . it reminds me of mop an glow,,.

Poli Glow used on bottom portion of the picture
Just put it on 21 foot RV, was impressed with the shine. Key is to make sure the applicator is moist. I periodically dampen with water. Realizing it wasn't going to revive the stickers. Question is How long it will last? What will it look like after it rains? Pictures attached, bottom portion was done with poli glow on June 7,2026 and I have just under a half of bottle left. Maybe I will update once it rains or how long the shine last.

This will work but prep is key!
I have an older RV that the gelcoat has dulled and is oxidized, but otherwise in good shape. I have buffed and polished in the past only for it to last a short time. I was looking up different products to try and this one has such good reviews, I thought I would give it a try. I bought the kit with the Poliglow and the Poliprep, with the scrubber and the microfiber glove. I started with the poliprep and it did a great job of gettting the streaks and black marks off. You spend a lot of time scrubbing to your likeness because anything that is still on the gelcoat when you apply the poliglow, it will be locked in there. The Poliglow is like a clearcoat that goes over the gelcoat. You have to build up layers and here are some of the tips and tricks I figured out that really helped my finished RV look great. First, make sure the applicator stays damp, this keeps the poliglow more uniform across the glove. Also, stick it in a zip lock bag when not using, you do not want it to dry out while you are using it. I found out that applying this in direct sunlight in warm temps, is the best method. This allows the poliglow to dry really fast. The first 3 or 4 layers will look streaky and dull but this is ok and as you build up the layers, the shine will come back. I found if you do this when its cooler, the layers do not dry as quick and you will get some permanent streaking or running. I had to remove a section I did in the evening because I noticed this. When in direct sunlight, this gave me the best results with no streaking or running. It dries fast and you can keep working. Like it says, do not do big sections at a time, keep it to small what you can reach sections and build those up and move on. As far as how much to buy? I have a 40 ft toy hauler and I got to kits and I had just enough to finish the whole thing minus the nose cap. I have Durabak on the nose cap, so I dont need to worry about that. I ended up buying one more bottle of the poliglow to have for my maintenance coats. Overall, I am pleased with how my 10 year old RV looks and other than some of the decals show age, it looks new again. If I were to buy a new RV, I would put this on right away and preserve the whole RV including the decals. Its not too expensive and its a lot of work, especially the prep, but it does end up with great results.
