Cone 10 reduction: Glossy purple/blue is more prominent.
Stoneware matte glazes range from solid shades to those that create interesting colour variations as they move and break. Application thickness is the key to making mattes work for you. Tiles shown are fired flat on a white clay body fired to cone 6 oxidation and cone 10 reduction. The choice of clay body, the thickness of glaze application, the firing process, and temperature will affect the fired results.
