A hundred years ago a simple business arrangement changed the course of Fort Worth's economy for years to come and its character perhaps forever. On July 26, 1887, the Union Stock Yards Company received a charter to do business in an area just north of town. The legacy of that charter: Cowtown. J'Nell L. Pate has spent ten years researching the Fort Worth market, with full access to company records and local archives. The result is a thorough, thoughtful, and colorful examination of the industry and its effects on this city. The early years of the stockyards were years of struggle for local businessmen, but in 1902, national giants Swift and Armour assumed a two-thirds interest in the operations, and from there the market grew to be the largest in the Southwest---and one of the three or four largest in the nation. Decentralization after World War II saw local country auctions and later large feedlot operations set the market on a decline. Pate describes typical days during various periods of the market's existence; regales with anecdotes about traders, packers, and shippers; examines the successes and failures of the owners and managers; and impartially evaluates the policies and practices of national moguls Armour and Swift. Her study demonstrates the interrelatedness of the Fort Worth market and the larger Texas agribusiness scene and gives many new insights into the livestock industry generally.Binding Type: Paperback

An Instant Hit and Everyone's New Favorite
Color: GREEN, Size: 14 inch (Pack of 1), Style: FROG
An instant favorite! It took quite a while for my dog to break the squeaker, too. I love that it uses a water bottle for the crinkle sound, and I'm kind of glad the squeaker finally bit the dust. That works out well for us. It's tough enough that it's not ripped yet. Our dog plays with this toy every day.
No fluff to pull out was definitely a plus for me. It's a great toy for the price, and I think small and larger dogs would also enjoy it. Johan is 7 months old, weighs about 40 pounds, and always chooses a favorite toy. This one replaced a worn out toy frog that was smaller, but still treasured. I was so glad that he loves this one just as much.
It's a little bit longer than a regular-sized water bottle and has dangly legs. I think you could also put plastic that crinkles inside it, and they would love that too. It has a velcro closure to keep whatever you put in there inside, and he hasn't figured out how to open it so far.
Update: We just bought a second one of these because he enjoyed the first one to its conclusion. It lasted longer than most toys (about 4 months with HARD use by a giant puppy), and it is his most favorite soft toy. The original didn't rip or tear, but the velcro got worn out when he figured out how to open it. I probably could have fixed it easily, but since Johan is the goodest boy, I got him a new one.

Best Toy Ever! 🐾
Color: GREEN, Size: 14 inch (Pack of 1), Style: FROG
Hey, it’s me, your dog! 🐶 This Frog toy is AMAZING! No stuffing to pull out (finally), so I can chew and squeak it all I want without making a mess. The squeaker is SO satisfying, I carry it everywhere. It’s the perfect size for playing tug-of-war and fetch with my human. I’ve had it for a while now, and it’s still holding up strong—no rips or tears yet! If you love squeaky toys and want something that lasts, this frog is paws-itively the best! 🐸

Dog toy
Color: GREEN, Size: 14 inch (Pack of 1), Style: FROG
My dogs have destroyed this toy. Squeaker gone in a day and is ripped open. It was a great little toy just not for use with heavy chewers

My dog loves this
Color: GREEN, Size: 14 inch (Pack of 1), Style: FROG
Easy to insert bottles into and easy to toss. My dog loves that it both squeaks and crunches. One of his new favorite toys.

Not durable for a large breed
Color: GREEN, Size: 14 inch (Pack of 1), Style: FROG, Color: GREEN, Size: 14 inch (Pack of 1), Style: FROG
I received this toy about 2hrs ago. My dog tore a hole in it already. Not made for Rottweiler/American Bulldog breed, apparently. 🙂
Love that there isn't stuffing though, at least she's not making a mess, lol!
