While this music rose from the people, it is also a product of the popular music industry, and the way the music has been marketed to its audience is a key part of its story. Key artists, songs, and musical styles are highlighted that are either touchstones for a particular social event (such as Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man," which produced both a positive and negative backlash as a marker of women's roles in society at the beginning of the liberation movement) or that encompass broader trends in the industry (for example, Jimmie Rodgers' "T for Texas" was an early example of the appropriation of black musical forms by white artists to market them to a mainstream audience). While pursuing a basically chronological outline, the book is structured around certain recurring themes (such as rural vs. urban; tradition vs. innovation; male vs. female; white vs. black) that have been documented through the work of country artists from the minstrel era to today. When I ordered this beautiful Thobe I noticed along with its minimalistic nature in looks that it took on, was the low price point... these dress garments usually run me a pretty penny in pastimes. It is soft, breathable & comfortable with a slender-like fit, all while being made of cotton and linen, which can be worn in multiple seasons... I ordered the black for a test run, and I am always on the look-out for (linen-cotton) around the clock (seasons)! And I am very pleased to report that I need additional colors because the quality of this garment is off the hook... and I want them all on MY hook! "WE WINN"

Fits great and works well in the hot summers - May order more in the future in other colors

Looks and feels great - very breathable in the hot summers with the Cotton and Linen blend. It felt a little rough at first but after washing it it feels wonderful (and it did not shrink!). It fit well and the size is true to what the table shows. It felt a little long at first but I got used to it very quickly. It's comfortable when going outside when it's 80+ F outside. This seems like a quality product and I hope it will last for years to come. Within the next few months of summer, if I really like after wearing it a few times I might order some other colors!
