This exquisite original lithograph Rêve (Dream) was created in 1951 by Françoise Gilot, the brilliant French painter and the only woman who ever chose to leave Pablo Picasso. Printed at the legendary Atelier Mourlot in Paris, this work comes from a rare limited edition of just 366 copies, making it an exceptional collectible and a highly desirable original Françoise Gilot lithograph for collectors who also appreciate the history of the Picasso lithograph tradition.

Françoise Gilot and Pablo Picasso form one of the most fascinating and turbulent love stories in modern art. Their relationship was marked by passion, rivalry, creativity, and ultimately Gilot’s courageous escape from Picasso’s overwhelming shadow.

Gilot (1921–2023) was no ordinary muse. She was intelligent, self-assured, elegant, and fiercely independent. At 21 she met Picasso, then 61. The story of their meeting is almost mythical: Picasso sat in a restaurant, Le Catalan, with Dora Maar. Gilot sat at another table. Picasso tried to attract their attention by throwing olives across the room. Moments later he approached her and said:
“You have a nice face. I would like to paint you.”
Gilot replied:
“I don’t need you for that. I’m a painter myself.”

This resistance fascinated Picasso but also threatened him. Whenever she gained recognition, he tried to undermine her, famously saying:
“You will never become anything as a painter.”
(Ironic, since she ultimately outlived him and her works today sell for millions.)

Rêve embodies Gilot’s poetic strength, independence, and sensitive linework, a piece created at a turning point in her life, when she was both inside Picasso’s world and already envisioning a life beyond him. A rare and powerful artwork by an artist who refused to remain anyone’s shadow.

Dog tested, dog approved
This is a large, heavy-duty bone. And a great one. My Pitt-mix is very tough on things and can destroy most chew toys in short order. This actually has held up very well to his best attempts. As shown in the picture, after a lot of use over several weeks the most that he's been able to do is to put some small bite marks in it. I'm impressed. That's largely due to the material used. It's a dense, rubbery-type material that's resilient to biting/cutting/tearing. Very solid without being hard. Kind of along the same lines as that used for the popular Chuck-It toys if you're familiar with those (but heavier). I like this softer material better than the nylon bones which he loves but I'm afraid are going to crack a tooth at some point. Has some scent to it but does not have a strong smell. Can't vouch for the flavor but he seems to enjoy it. Again this is large and heavy toy. Probably a little too big/heavy for smaller dogs under say 40lbs or so. Some probably could do it but really better for the bigger dogs. Given how long this one looks like it's going to last, I'd say that it's a very good value. Bottom line - Dog likes it. I like it. Everybody's happy. Great bone. Buy it.

Flavor/Scent May Not Be Very Strong
My pup is picky about toys and the only ones that hold his interest are mostly the scented rubber toys from Playology, They’re great, but expensive, and I was really hoping this would be a cheaper alternative. It really looked like the kind of toy he likes. It’s heavy rubber with a softer texture than the hard toys out there, and it had a lot of surface grooves that lets him grip it with his teeth easily. I gave it to him and he was excited for all of 30 seconds, then he discarded it and hasn’t looked at it since. I suspect the flavor/scent may not be as strong but that’s just a guess. I don’t know if it’s a flaw in the toy or simply a picky pup, so I hesitate to rate this down for that. It does look like a really nice toy and if your dog isn’t a jerk like mine it may be great, and it’s definitely a good price.

Heavy duty rubber bone
This bone is really heavy duty. It's got a groove down the middle of you you can put your pups favorite lickable treat. My 36 lb aussie enjoyed chewing on this and was nibbling the ends. This bone has held up to her chewing it with only a couple little pieces coming off.

Big hit with my super chewer.
Here’s an expanded, Amazon-friendly version that keeps a natural, human tone while adding helpful detail: This is a truly heavy-duty chew bone and a great option for aggressive chewers. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the package was the weight. It’s solid and well made, so it definitely feels like it’s built to last. Because of that, I would recommend being mindful when handing it to your dog and avoiding tossing or dropping it on hard floors or toes. My dog, Yukon, was instantly thrilled with it. From the moment I gave it to him, he’s been carrying it around proudly and settling in to chew on it for long stretches of time. It’s kept his attention much better than lighter chews, and it’s holding up well to his strong jaws so far. I also love that it provides great enrichment and gives him a safe, satisfying outlet for his chewing instincts. Overall, this chew bone has been a big hit in our house. If you have a powerful chewer and are looking for something durable that will actually keep them engaged, this is a solid choice. I’m very glad I picked it up for Yukon and would recommend it to other dog owners with heavy chewers.

Immediate Hit With My Power Chewer!
Immediate hit. Like, didn’t even make it fully out of the package before my dog was sniffling around the package, all excited. I have a serious chewer, the kind that treats most toys like a personal challenge. This one has actually held up. It’s firm and tough, but not rock hard like those nylon bones that make me nervous about teeth. There’s a little bit of give to it, which I like. The beef flavor must be legit because he keeps going back to it. This isn’t one of those toys that gets ignored after five minutes. He’s been happily gnawing on it and hasn’t managed to destroy it yet, which honestly says a lot in this house. I also like the shape and texture. It’s easy for him to hold, and the ridges seem to keep him engaged longer. Bonus points if it’s helping his teeth even a little, because chewing is already his favorite hobby. No toy is truly indestructible, but this has definitely earned its place in the “worth buying again” category. If you’ve got a medium to large dog who lives to chew, this one’s a solid win.
