Ternstroemia gymnanthera ~ Japanese CleyeraJapanese Cleyera is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with high branches and rounded crown. The new growth emerges bronze and matures to leathery dark green leaves with a paler underside. Its fragrant downward facing clusters of white flowers bloom in late spring followed by shiny black fruit. Prefers part sun and moist, well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established.
