The Kiloview C1 Mini (officially cataloged under the model SKU KV-C1 Mini) is a professional, pocket-sized broadcast-grade 3G-SDI to HDMI Hardware Scan Converter.

Unlike standard, cheap consumer adapter boxes that simply plug-and-convert with heavy latency and signal degradation, the C1 Mini is engineered around an FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) microchip processing matrix. It is designed to take a high-end coaxial broadcast video feed from an SDI camera, normalize it with a 10-bit pipeline, and output it instantly over HDMI—all while offering specialized hardware-level assistive overlays for live video editing and monitoring.

Core Engineering and Operational Features

  • Lossless 10-Bit FPGA Video Pipeline: The conversion architecture processes the video signal through an advanced FPGA image processor with a 10-bit color-depth rendering path. This preserves the raw structural fidelity, fine details, and color accuracy of the broadcast feed, delivering mathematically lossless, sub-millisecond (zero-latency) translation from SDI baseband to digital HDMI layouts.

  • Hardware-Level Video Editing Auxiliary Features: Built into the device's chip logic is the ability to generate live, configurable graphical monitoring overlays directly onto the output image canvas. Operators do not need a computer or companion software to activate these tools; they can be toggled instantly using a physical DIP dial/switch array integrated on the bottom face of the chassis:

    • Image Safety Frames: Renders overlay guidelines on the monitor to ensure graphics and action stay within safe action/title parameters.

    • Center Crosshair: Places a centering cross onto the display layout for fast, mathematically precise camera framing and composition.

    • Audio Columns (VU Meter): Extracts the synchronous embedded digital audio lines from the SDI line and renders real-time graphic audio level meters on the screen to prevent clipping.

  • Broad Voltage Input Tolerance for Remote Rigging: Built to withstand the unpredictability of field reporting and mobile remote production, the internal circuit supports a wide 5V to 16V DC voltage spectrum. It is powered via a standard USB Type-C terminal, meaning a camera crew can power the converter directly from a smartphone power bank, an on-camera D-Tap accessory output, or a camera's built-in USB port.

  • HDMI Alliance Certified Engine: The C1 Mini has received official authorization and licensing from the HDMI Alliance and has passed strict EMC electromagnetic compatibility testing. This shielding protocol ensures the device will not emit or suffer from localized radio frequency interference when rigged tightly alongside wireless video transmitters, cellular bonding units, or focus motors.

💡 Operational Engineering Tips for the C1 Mini

The Budget-Friendly SDI Monitoring Workaround: Professional field and studio monitors equipped with native SDI inputs are notoriously expensive. Because the C1 Mini handles high-performance conversion without a single frame of processing lag, you can mount the 120-gram unit directly onto a production rig using a hook-and-loop strip or a small bracket. Run the primary 3G-SDI line from your camera into the C1 Mini, and use its HDMI output to drive a consumer-grade electronic viewfinder (EVF), a low-cost high-bright monitor, or a standard commercial TV screen. This achieves accurate SDI video monitoring without paying the premium for high-end SDI panel equipment.

  • Fixing Blank Screen Sync Failures via Switch Check: Because the converter outputs standard HDMI 1.4 protocols, plugging its output into older, legacy HDMI capture cards or consumer display panels can occasionally result in a blank screen or an "Unsupported Format" error if the frame rates do not align. If this happens, use the physical pin toggles on the bottom of the C1 Mini chassis to modify your overlay configurations or force a fresh hardware handshake loop. This forces the display monitor to recalibrate and sync correctly with the incoming 1080p broadcast timing matrix.

🧵✨ Teflon Paper: The Unsung Hero of Appliqué Chaos
Size: 11"×17" 20Sheets & 8.5"×11" 10Sheets, Color: Teflon Paper
If you’re like me and enjoy assembling 37 microscopic pieces of fabric into something that hopefully resembles a dog, person, or llama in a sweater—this stuff is magic. I use it to build my appliqué masterpieces one tiny ironed layer at a time. The best part? Once your Franken-dog is assembled, you can just slide it off and fuse it to your quilt like a boss. No sticking, no scorched disasters—just smooth, glorious precision. Honestly, I love it more than I love some people.

Excellent quality and value!
Style: All-in-One Printer, Style: All-in-One Printer
I bought the Epson EcoTank 2400 yesterday and set it up today. If it continues performing this well for the next ten years, I’ll be very happy with this purchase. I bought it to replace my old Canon MP190. The print quality on the Canon suddenly became very poor, which may honestly have been more of a cartridge issue than a printer issue, but testing that would have been expensive. On top of that, the printer was old enough that modern operating systems no longer support the scanner drivers, so I couldn’t even use the flatbed scanner anymore. At that point, replacing the whole printer made more sense. The ET-2400 is not quite as wide as the MP190 which is a nice plus. The biggest advantage of the EcoTank line is the refillable ink tanks. Printer ink is already expensive, but traditional cartridges also include microchips and hardware that drive the cost even higher. With this printer, I can refill only the specific color I need instead of replacing an entire color cartridge because one channel ran out. I mostly print proxies and alternate art for Magic: The Gathering, so I regularly print nearly full-page, full-color images (eight cards per page). Because of that, image quality matters a lot to me. I also wanted a working flatbed scanner so I could scan my paintings instead of photographing them. I did not use the wireless features. Instead, I connected the printer directly to my computer with a USB cable after downloading Epson’s management software. Setup was straightforward, the software updated itself automatically after asking permission, and my computer recognized the printer immediately. It showed up in Photoshop right away with no issues. The only thing I disliked during setup was that the registration process appears to require opting into marketing emails. I’ll unsubscribe later. Print Quality: Colors are bright and vibrant, blacks are deep and dark, and the images come out crisp and clean. Some reviewers mentioned getting “light gray” blacks, but I haven’t experienced that problem at all. Scanning: The flatbed scanner is slightly too small for a full 9x12 painting, but I expected that and don’t consider it a flaw. The scans came out vibrant, sharp, and detailed. It couldn’t fully capture the shimmer of my metallic paints, but that’s normal — I usually need angled lighting in photographs to show metallic effects accurately anyway.

Incredibly cost-efficient, reliable, and perfect for everyday home use
Style: All-in-One Printer, Style: All-in-One Printer
I’ve been using the Epson EcoTank ET-2400, and it’s easily one of the best home printers I’ve owned—especially if you’re tired of constantly buying expensive ink cartridges. Ink Savings (Huge Win): The cartridge-free EcoTank system is a game changer. Filling the tanks is simple, mess-free, and the amount of ink you get lasts a long time. I’ve printed a ton already and barely made a dent. If you print regularly, this alone makes the printer worth it. Print Quality: For everyday documents, it’s excellent—sharp text and clean color prints. Even photos come out crisp and vibrant, though I will say it’s a bit slower when printing high-definition images. That said, the final quality is absolutely worth the wait. Functionality: Having print, scan, and copy all in one compact machine is super convenient. It handles everything I need for home use—school papers, forms, photos, and more. Wireless & Ease of Use: Setup was quick, and the wireless printing works smoothly from my phone and computer. The interface is simple and beginner-friendly, so you don’t need to be tech-savvy to get it up and running. Pros: ✔️ Extremely low ink cost (no cartridges!) ✔️ Crisp text and vibrant color prints ✔️ Easy to refill and maintain ✔️ Wireless printing works great ✔️ All-in-one functionality (print/scan/copy) ✔️ Compact and clean design Cons: ➖ Slower when printing high-quality photos ➖ Basic display (not fancy, but functional) Final Verdict: If you want a budget-friendly, low-maintenance printer with excellent print quality and huge long-term savings on ink, the EcoTank ET-2400 is an outstanding choice. Perfect for everyday home use—and the slow photo printing is a small trade-off for how good the results look. Highly recommend!
