Lightning Bolt Switch Grass is a tall native warm-season ornamental grass with a sturdy and dense upright habit.  The fine mid green foliage stays strong in rain and wind and turns tan fades in fall to winter.  In summer, stems holding airy clusters create a cloud of silvery flowers above the foliage in late summer which tan and persist through winter. Prefers part sun and moist well-drained soils.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low maintenance plant. Too much shade will lose its upright form.  Beetles and mites are occasional problems.  Root and crown rot may occur in poorly drained soils. Some susceptibility to rust.
