Carbon nanotubes are simple substances composed of carbon atoms and can be regarded as hollow tubular structures formed by the curling of graphene. On the surface of carbon nanotubes, the carbon atoms are bonded to each other in the form of sp2 hybrid orbitals, which are arranged as hexagonal graphite layers. In theory, this regular hexagonal structure is perfectly evenly distributed over the entire surface of the carbon nanotubes. Topologically, the common structure and properties of graphene and carbon nanotubes are one of the important factors for their similarity. However, due to the curvature of the graphite layer in the carbon nanotubes, coupled with the defects that may occur during the growth process, the sp3 hybrid phenomenon may occur in the six-membered ring structure on the surface of the carbon nanotubes, resulting in the emergence of five-membered rings or seven-membered rings. Carbon nanotubes can be divided into single-walled carbon nanotubes, double-walled carbon nanotubes and multi-walled carbon nanotubes according to the graphite sheets with different number of layers.

There are many kinds of preparation processes and methods for carbon nanotubes, and carbon nanotubes with corresponding properties and structures can be prepared by different methods. At present, the main methods for preparing carbon nanotubes include graphite arc method, laser graphite evaporation method and chemical deposition method. Chemical deposition method has the advantage of large-scale production and is widely used at present.

Product characteristics

High purity: Most of the metal impurities are removed under high temperature treatment of the carbon tube.

It has good flexibility and elasticity and can withstand large deformation without breaking. For example, in some micro-mechanical parts, complex movements can be achieved using their flexibility.

Electrical properties:

It has good electrical conductivity, and the electrical conductivity can be close to copper.

Thermal properties:

The thermal conductivity is very high and can effectively conduct heat.

It can be used to make optical sensors and light-emitting devices.


Application Fields

1. Composite material strengthening: multi-wall carbon nanotubes have high strength and toughness, adding them to plastics, rubber, metal and other substrates can significantly improve the mechanical properties of the material, such as strength, stiffness and so on. For example, the multistage structure obtained by grafting carbon nanotubes on the surface of carbon fiber can enhance the interfacial interaction with organic matrix and the mechanical properties of composite materials.

2. Electronic devices: Although its electrical conductivity is not as single and excellent as that of single-wall carbon nanotubes, it still has good electrical conductivity and can be used to manufacture high-performance conductive inks, sensors, flexible displays and other electronic devices.

3. Electrode material: It can be used as electrode material for lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors to improve energy storage and power output.

4. Catalyst and catalyst carrier: itself can be used as catalyst. It can also act as a catalyst carrier, and because of its large specific surface area and special structure, it can provide more active sites for catalytic reactions and improve catalytic performance. For example, acidified multi-walled carbon nanotubes can be used as a carrier to support composite inorganic salts, and the solid acid catalyst produced has better catalytic effect than single-component iron sulfate.

5. Energy field: In addition to the previously mentioned applications in batteries, it can also be applied to hydrogen storage materials. The unique hollow structure and diameter of carbon nanotubes provide favorable conditions for hydrogen storage.

6. Wave absorbing material: It has a certain absorption capacity for electromagnetic waves, and can be used to prepare wave absorbing materials, which has potential application value in military stealth and electromagnetic shielding.

7. Biomedicine field: Its unique hollow structure and nanotube diameter can provide space for containing drugs, can achieve a high drug load, and can pass through cell membranes and a variety of biological barriers to deliver drugs to the interior of cells. Same scenario here as a lot of other reviewers... We've got a 10-week-old pup that used potty pads at first... But now is in the teething and let's tear everything up stage. It was starting to get dangerous even with other holders she was tearing up the pads completely and we were worried she was going to ingest them. We looked at several different products, including the over twice the cost metal wolf brand. But I have to say, really glad we went with this one. It does take a minute to snap together properly, but once you do changing out pads is a breeze. Once our girl (Mini Poodle) went on top of the greats and used the bathroom we gave her a big reward with lots of praise and a treat. She hasn't been able to tear it up at all. And I believe since she can smell her marking, she has been going back and using it about 7/10 times. More recently, the success rate has been going up. Like I said, she hasn't been able to flip it over, break it apart etc. So we are incredibly happy with this purchase and has made our lives so much easier. Once she gets bigger we will see how she handled it. And if she is able to break it apart. But I doubt it, there is a fairly satisfying click when you lock in both sides with the pad beneath. We are using Frisco pads from Chewy large size and they fit pretty much perfectly. You have to fold the blue border slightly but it works great!

Our German Sheppard loves these

These cost a bit more than tennis balls, but they are so much nicer and longer lasting. For starters, they stay cleaner than tennis balls because they’re smooth rubber. Dirt won’t build up on them and if anything does stick, like grass or soil, it falls off once the dog slobber dries. They’re also thick, so they don’t fall apart or blow out like a normal tennis ball does in our dog’s jaws after 30 seconds. Our GS chomps on these like crazy and the only damage they’ve suffered is a crack that developed from the edge of the hole, but the crack is growing very slowly and none of these balls have totally failed yet. The balls do whistle when thrown ant high speed and that may help a dog track and locate it, but I’m not sure. Our neighbors hear the whistling too so it’s far from silent. Lastly the orange ball is easy to locate out in our yard, but the dark blue practically disappears.

My Dachshunds Love These

These balls are durable, flexible material, highly chewable without being easily destroyed. I stuff them with Milkbone Maro Snacks, which are just the right size to twist into the holes in the ball. My dogs literally get an hour+ chewing and chasing entertainment from these. They chew them, they sometimes 'pop' out of their mouths, go rolling across the floor, dogs chasing them. This satisfies their urge to hunt prey. Dachshunds can easily tear this kind of stuff-it-toy apart. These have lasted for a long time without tearing or shredding. I would NOT recommend them for a dog much larger than a tweenie weenie. They're a bit on the small side and might be swallowed by a larger dog. It would be cool it they also came in a larger size (and probably ball wall thickness also) for the bigger dogs to enjoy. These stuff-it chew balls are better than the kong balls my dogs had before these. Highly recommend them.
