Embarking on an adventure that most only fantasize about, Liz Clark set sail from Santa Barbara, California, ten years ago as captain of her 40-foot sailboat, Swell, headed south toward the wonder and learning that lies beyond the unbroken horizon. In true stories that overflow with wild waves and constant challenges at the whim of the weather, with relationships sweet and sour, and nature’s marvels and colorful cultures, Liz captures her voyage in gripping detail. She shares tales of sailing in high seas, of solitude and surprises, of finding connection to the earth and commitment to living in harmony with it. More than ten years, 20,000 miles, countless adventures, and 1 cat later, she’s still out there.

 _____

Author & Captain Liz Clark is a surfer and environmentalist who has been sailing the seas on her 40-foot sailboat, Swell, since early 2006. Liz fell in love with surfing while earning her BA in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara. After college, she turned her dream of sailing the world into reality, sailing south from Southern California through Central America and the Pacific Islands. For more than a decade, she has kept her nomadic ocean lifestyle going through writing, blogging, photography, representing conscious brands, and earning recognition as a surf adventurer, environmental activist, and captain. She hopes to inspire people to live their passions and reconnect with nature and our inherent oneness. She was featured in the film Dear and Yonder (2009) and was nominated for National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2015.

REVIEWS:

“Captain Liz Clark’s intrepid, joyful, courageous, beautifully illustrated, searingly personal, and occasionally harrowing memoir, Swell, is the perfect antidote to any malaise. . . . Clark’s story will inspire anyone who yearns to be at large in the world―and especially those who dream of a life aquatic."

—Susan Casey, author of Voices in the Ocean, The Wave, and The Devil's Teeth

“Liz has excelled as a surfer, sailor, and explorer, but these descriptions do not truly impart the spirit, courage and humility of her life. She is one of those rare people who has chosen to journey far from the comfort and security of the shore, to risk all and follow her heart’s calling.”

—Wayne Lynch, legendary surfer

Great for dry skin
Looovvveee this stuff. At first it feels a little sticky but once your skin absorbs it, it feels so hydrated. I was worried about using this because i have dry and sensitive skin but if anything it made my skin calm down. I haven’t broken out and i’ve been using it for a while, makes my skin so glowy too.

Best cleanser I've ever used.
This is easily and by far the best cleanser I've ever used. I have sensitive, oily, dehydrated and aging skin. I wear mineral sunscreen, primer, and bb cream cream daily AND I smoke, so there's a lot for a cleanser to fully remove. This does, cotton ball with toner tells me so. This cleanser is unscented, foams beautifully, and takes everything off including mascara without a pre-cleanse ( makeup remover oils or balms break me out, every time). It is gentle and doesn't strip my skin. It leaves my face actually clean and comfortable. My serums sink in quickly after use, and my skin is noticeably less greasy during the day because it's balanced. Considering that this cleanser is also affordable and a little goes a long way, I'd say it's close to perfect. Love it.

Gentle, hydrating, and perfect for sensitive skin
I’ve been impressed with this cleanser. It creates a soft, rich foam that feels great on the skin, not stripping at all. What I love most is how gentle it is. I used it consistently after a laser treatment, when my skin was especially sensitive, and it never caused any stinging, tightness, or dryness. It left my skin feeling clean, calm, and hydrated every time. The ingredient list is solid, featuring hyaluronic acid, squalane, and ceramides, which suggests it helps maintain my skin barrier rather than breaking it down, unlike some other foaming cleansers. It’s also pH-balanced, which I think makes a big difference if you’re using active treatments or have easily irritated skin. I’ve tried many cleansers over the years, and this is one I can see myself coming back to. Definitely planning to repurchase once I finish the bottle. A great daily cleanser for those seeking a soothing yet effective product.

Love it 🥰 Highly recommend
I got this because I had the scented one and its fragrance was too strong for me but I like the cleanser but this one is scent free and I love it. I do the double cleansing with the oil first then this product and the really help keep my skin feel protected and soft. So gas as the foaming I use less than a dime maybe a quarter the size of a dime and get great foaming. Definitely add the soup first then some water to get the foaminess. Since I started using this cleanser I feel the effects are not hearsay or stripping. Pros: Scent free, requires small amount for a good cleansing and leave you feeling soft yet cleaned and ready for your next step like toner or witch hazel. Cons: None for now. I really like this product and recommend to anyone who needs a good scent free cleanser
