Bei richtig kaltem Wetter kommen High-Performance Kälteschutzjacken zum Einsatz. Bei der Entwicklung der Softshell Jacke wurde darauf geachtet, bei moderateren Temperaturen Wetterbeständigkeit zu erreichen und gleichzeitig für die entsprechende Bewegungsfreiheit zu sorgen. Schutz vor schneller Auskühlung (winddicht dank GORE Windstopper-Membran) in Kombination mit hoher Atmungsaktivität sind hier die wichtigsten Eigenschaften, die benötigt werden. Auch bei leichten Schauern können hochwertige Softshell-Stoffe problemlos den Träger trocken halten, sind aber kein vollwertiger Ersatz für Regenjacken. In Kombination mit Base-Layern ist die Softshell Multifunktionsjacke sehr vielseitig einsetzbar und ermöglicht durch die erhöhte Bewegungsfreiheit auch Aktivitäten im Bereich von +5°C.
